I still can't believe we did that.
I can't believe we swept the Agency of the Year 2024 show and won Overall Local Hero of the Year, with 1x Gold, 4x Silver, 1x Bronze and 5x Local Hero metals. Considering this is our #AOTYAwards debut, it just validates the strength of our approach and the talent of our team, standing our ground against 72 other agencies nominated for the night.
But mostly, it is nothing short of a dream come true.
I began my career at a boutique agency, and I've always been drawn to the unique energy and camaraderie that small teams foster. There’s something about working with a tight-knit group that fuels my passion and drives me to push harder. I remember the joy of winning just a single award as part of other agencies, at past Agency of the Year events, and it’s surreal to think that in just 20 months, Gloo has achieved something as monumental as it did.
Our journey has been nothing short of remarkable. It was barely 12 months ago that we decided to pivot and redefine ourselves as 'The Social Currency Agency.' This bold shift in focus was driven by our belief in the power of social traction and meaningful outcomes. Looking at that conscious shift retrospectively, it was absolutely the right move, and was a good representation of what we do well.
All that aside, this triumph is really a testament to the incredible team at Gloo. While it might be me penning this post, the real heroes are those behind the scenes—the unsung champions whose dedication and creativity power every social currency activation we deliver. Our unspoken mantra has always been to delight every client, and this ethos is woven into the very fabric of our culture. It is the magic ingredient that propels us to exceed expectations and deliver exceptional results. The night was made even more special because part of our Philippines team joined us in Singapore. This has been a dream since day one—to bridge the distance and bring our remote colleagues into the fold, allowing them to share in our triumphs firsthand. Celebrating this win together was a powerful reminder of how far we've come and how much we’ve grown as an agency.
The awards I'm personally proud of include Influencer Agency of the Year, Social Media Marketing Agency of the Year, Experiential Agency of the Year and Consultant of the Year. These accolades highlight our strength and versatility across key domains, that help us take confident strides towards our goal of standing amongst the best agencies in social media, KOL, events and strategy in Singapore.
A massive thank you to our clients. Your unwavering belief in us from the very beginning has been the cornerstone of our success. To our KOL and media fam, your support has been invaluable in helping our campaigns shine.
While it was truthfully, a bit of a letdown not to snag any awards in the people and culture categories, getting nominated along with the small handful of other independent agencies and representing home-grown culture was victory in our books. Our KAPX/Gloo mission is about enriching the lives of everyone who works with us, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to making a meaningful difference, while always being kind.
To all the other winners, congratulations. As Sid mentioned in his AOTY speech, the talent in our industry is truly astounding, you guys are amazing, and it's an honour to share the night with all of you.
